The retro tea caddy
The caddy is the piece that stays. Strong tin with a decorative cottage-garden print and a push on lid, it holds around 100g of loose leaf and keeps it dark, dry and away from the smells of the cupboard. Once the pouch is finished it earns its keep for coffee, sugar, herbs or biscuits, and it looks the part left out on an open shelf.
Choosing the blend
Choose the pouch at the top of this page. Staying In is the safest pick if you don't know their taste — soft, sweet, caffeine-free. Gentle Dream is floral and honeyed for a late-evening cup. Darjeeling Second Flush is the traditional afternoon black, muscatel and brisk.
Using the heart infuser
The 14cm stainless steel heart holds a teaspoon of leaf, clips shut and sits in a mug or cup. Rinse it warm after brewing and it keeps going long after the pouch is finished.
1 heaped teaspoon per cup. Fill the infuser, steep 3–5 minutes in freshly boiled water (80°C for the Darjeeling). Rinse the infuser and use it again.
