The makers behind the brew
Small makers. Proper products.
Everything on this site is made by someone, not somewhere. Local, heritage and family-run makers, each one doing things the slow way.
Wild Steep started on a market stall, so we know a good maker when we meet one. Every brand we stock is one we would happily buy from across a stall table — family businesses, heritage names and small workshops where the people making the product are the same people who answer the phone.
No white-label ranges. No anonymous factories. Just makers we believe in.

The house blend
Wild Steep.
Every Wild Steep blend is weighed, mixed and packed by hand in small batches at our base in Abram, Greater Manchester. No factory line, no outsourced blending — a set of scales, a stack of jars and a notebook of scribbles.
Each new blend is brewed and tasted before it earns a place in the range, and it gets its first real test on our market stall, poured for people who will tell you honestly if it isn't right.

Heritage design
William Morris.
Few names carry as much weight in British design. William Morris's botanical patterns have decorated homes since the Victorian era, and they look every bit as at home on a teapot, a mug or a tea caddy as they do on wallpaper.
Our teaware carries those Arts & Crafts designs onto the table — heritage pattern, made for a proper brew.

Est. 2012 · Ripon, North Yorkshire
Sawley Kitchen.
Robin and Nicky Jaques spent years working in Yorkshire hospitality before they bought a commercial oven — named Bridgitte — and threw open the doors of the Sawley Kitchen in October 2012. They baked to vintage family recipes, by hand, and never compromised on the ingredients.
The bakery is still family run — their son Dan joined in 2017 — and the biscuits have since found their way into farm shops, delis and five-star hotel rooms, including The Ritz in London. Everything is baked fresh, and every batch is tested for flavour.

Beccles, Suffolk
Harris & James.
Harris & James is a family-run chocolate and coffee house in the market town of Beccles, on the Suffolk border. It began over twenty years ago with a family café, grew into small-batch coffee roasting in 2013, and turned to bean-to-bar chocolate making in 2015.
The chocolate is crafted by hand in small batches, from cacao sourced directly from growers and cooperatives — full traceability from bean to box. Their selection boxes pair that chocolate with their own hand-roasted Arabica.

Handmade in the UK · Founded 2014
The Naked Marshmallow Company.
Founded in 2014, The Naked Marshmallow Company makes gourmet marshmallows by hand in the UK — 100% natural, with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. That's the naked part: nothing hiding in the list.
Their flavours read like a tuck shop dream — Jammie Dodger, cinnamon churro, honeycomb and choc — and they were the first to put marshmallows in a toasting gift set. Made for melting into a mug or dunking straight in.

Hand-poured candle studio
Candle Drop.
Candle Drop began with one person's obsession with pouring the perfect candle, and it shows: natural soy wax, cotton wicks and amber glass jars with black lids, every candle hand-poured in small batches. They are the makers' maker — a studio that pours for other brands as well as its own shelves.
We choose the fragrances and the label; Candle Drop do the pouring. Apple crumble, cinnamon bun, pumpkin spice and the rest of the range — each one made to sit on the table while the kettle boils, a low warm glow for the late afternoon and the wind-down after.

Everything here passes one test.
Would we buy it at our own stall, and would we give it as a gift with our name on the box? If the answer is no, it doesn't make the site.
